Peter. Some people may see him as the man who denied knowing Jesus. Others view him as the man who was crucified upside - down for Jesus. However you may see him, there is no denying that Peter was instrumental character in the Bible who experienced dramatic growth as a human being.

When we first meet Peter, he is known to be a coward who can't speak to large crowds. After the Holy Spirit came upon him, he preached to a crowd and converted 3000 men; not including women and children to Jesus.
He was outgoing, transparent and enthusiastic. Most important of all, he loved Christ. Because of his being impulsiveness and headstrong attitude, his faults were made quite obvious for us to see.

After Pentecost, Peter was no longer self - centred and vain. He sought to do all for the glory of God. When Peter healed the lame man at the temple and a crowd gathered in amazement, Peter said to them, "Men of Israel, why do you marvel at this? Or why look so intently at us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk?" He let them know that it was by the power and name of Jesus Christ.
So what can we learn form this? God has given all of His children the extraordinary gift of the Holy Spirit, when we allow ourselves to receive that power God can do amazing things through us.

Amen!
