Joshua's Commitment

Updated: Oct 14, 2018

Joshua had very big shoes to fill, he was Moses' successor and to lead the people of Israel into the promised land was no easy feat. This is why God had to give him very specific instructions. As seen in Joshua 1, Joshua is told to meditate day and night.

The reason Joshua was entrusted with this demanding task is because when he was one of the twelve spies, what ten people saw as giants, Joshua and Caleb saw as grasshoppers. Joshua was filled with courage, faith and strength which are the characteristics of an effective Godly leader.

Joshua knew about God splitting the Red Sea and so when he needed a river parted, he knew God would do the same and God acted accordingly.

So what can we learn from Joshua? Joshua showed God he had the making of a good leader so God honored him and made him a great leader. I believe if we do the same, there are endless possibilities of where God will take us in the next stage of our life.

Amen!
